Unregistered Mountain & Moorland

Find out what to wear for unregistered native classes

Find out what to do in the ring

This class does exactly what it says on the tin. It's for ponies who are clearly M&M bred, but not registered. It's not really for the random 'native type' pony who could have a bit of Welsh in him somewhere - but for ponies who are reasonably recognisably of one of the native breeds. If you don't know the breed of your pony but it looks like a typical native breed, then this class is for you.

This class is most often seen in areas where there is a concentration of high-class native ponies, such as near Wales, where Welsh ponies and studs are common, or in the South of England near the New Forest.

Ponies (UK) has recently introduced the Risely series of championships, open to unregistered native types. There are ridden, equitation, working hunter and Smartest on Parade classes in this series.
